Parade of Flags
The Annual Southeast Juneteenth Festival invites young people (ages 10-18) to take part in our Parade of Flags, this year’s event on June 17th, at Capron Park!
The Parade of Flags will offer a colorful display of the multicultural diversity found on the African continent through the display of flags from over 60 nations of the African Diaspora, each carried by local students around the festival grounds.
Parents of children interested in being flag bearers are asked to contact the Juneteenth committee with the email below.
Teachers, scout leaders, affinity group advisors, and youth ministers are welcome to get in touch to register their group to participate as a unit! We need a lot of kids!
All students will be asked to take part in one rehearsal prior to Juneteenth. More information will be provided to students and parents after sign-up.
Those who wish to indicate a specific country they would like to represent in the parade are welcome to make that request; however, for the most part, flags are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Sign up deadline is (May 26, 2023).
Any student who wants to take part is welcome! We will find a place for everyone!
